Short term visa

Short-term visa applications must be submitted at the Czech Republic Visa Application Centre of the VFS Global company in Amman (www.vfsglobal.com), Sweifieh, Galleria Mall, Abdul Raheem Al-Haj Moh´d Str., building no 56, 1st floor, Tel: +962 (06) 400 1004. All applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Czech Republic in Amman.

For applicants from the West Bank the applications must be submitted at the VFS Global office in Ramallah - since 26th December 2023 the VFS Global office for applicants from the West Bank is going to be moved to a new location - Wall Street Building, Al Masyoun, Ramallah

Family members of the EU citizens can lodge their short term visa application after registering an appointment on our email adress amman.consulate@mzv.gov.cz directly at the Embassy within the official hours of the Visa Department of the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

The information concerning the processing of your visa application cannot be provided by phone.

VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

1) Application Form

2) Travel document

(Original and copy of current travel document, issued in the past ten years, valid at least three months after the intended departure from the Czech Republic / Schengen Area and containing at least two blank pages)

3) 1 Photograph

4) Document substantiating purpose of stay

(for example: invitation letter, travel agency documents, organized trip reservation, itinerary, health/medical facility confirmation, employment confirmation, invitation/tickets for a congress, expo, seminar, business relations confirmation, invitation/application for participation in consultations, conference, seminar etc.)

In case of transit, visa or other permit to enter a third country, which is the final destination and (air plane) tickets for the trip

5) Proof of accommodation or proof of sufficient financial means to arrange for accommodation (for example: invitation, hotel voucher, confirmation of accommodation, etc.)

6) Certificate of employment, specifying the date of recruitment, position in the company and salary level.

For company owners: copy of the commercial registry with English translation.

7) Proof of sufficient financial means for subsistence during a stay in the Schengen area, for return to a country of residence or for a transit to a third country, in which the applicant resides or can obtain financial means legally - original bank statement for last 6 months.

8) Information, which will allow to ascertain the intention to leave the territory of the Czech Republic/Schengen area before the expiry of visa - air plane ticket reservation, proof of financial means, employment confirmation, proof of immovable property, proof of family or work ties etc.)

9) Travel Medical Insurance covering all expenses which might arise in connection with repatriation for medical reasons, urgent medical attention and/or emergency hospital treatment or death. The insurance must be valid throughout the entire Schengen Area and cover the entire period of stay (transit). The minimum coverage must be EUR 30,000.

10) Visa Fee payable in cash (JOD) or credit card (EUR). Personal or business checks are NOT accepted.

WHAT TO SUBMIT BRIEFLY in English and in Arabic

 

Please note:

Ten flat fingerprints of every applicant are digitally scanned. Only children younger than twelve years are exempted.

The Visa and Consular Department has full authority to evaluate and request more documents than those submitted by the applicant, therefore, always include your mobile or home or office telephone number or e-mail with your application. The applicant is hereby informed that submitting the above mentioned documents does not guarantee automatic issuance of the visa.

Visa issuance does not automatically grant the right of entry to the Schengen Area / Czech Republic. Visa holders need to fulfill entry conditions specified in the Schengen Border Code and can be asked upon entry to present documents on accommodation, finances, return air ticket etc. Failure to notify the consulate of any changes in the trip arrangements after the application has been lodged or after the visa has been issued can result into revocation or annulation of the visa.

EU CITIZEN FAMILY MEMBERS

Is a family member (the spouse, the partner with whom the EU citizen has contracted a registered partnership, the direct descendants who are under the age of 21 or the dependent direct relatives in the ascending line) of citizens of the EU, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland or Liechtenstein.

Your short-term visa (so called "schengen") application will be processed free of charge, usually within two weeks from the lodging of your visa application. In certain specific cases the procedure can take up to 30, occasionally 60 days. You will have to proove your relation to the EU citizen and his/her EU citizenship by original or certified copy of the relevant document (for example marriage certificate, etc.). Foreign documents must be superlegalized and officially translated to Czech language. You can submit your application directly at the Consular Section.

Family members of EU citizens who wish to apply for any type of short-stay visa are only required to submit:

  •     a valid travel document + photocopy
  •     fully completed and signed Schengen visa application form
  •     document proving that the applicant is a member of the family of an EU Citizen original + photocopy
  •     photocopy of passport/ or ID of EU Citizen together with his/her written consent that he/she agrees with this photocopy
  •     1 colour photograph not older than 3 months

Family members of Czech citizens have to submit a marriage certificate issued by the Czech authorities.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS MAY BE REQUIRED REGARDING THE PURPOSE OF TRAVEL.

IT IS UP TO THE VISA APPLICANT TO PROVE THAT HE IS A BENEFICIARY OF THE DIRECTIVE 2004/38/EC. HE MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTARY EVIDENCE FORESEEN ABOVE AS HE MUST TO BE ABLE TO PRESENT EVIDENCE TO SUPPORT HIS CLAIM.

Kindly note that because of the protection of personal data the status of the visa application cannot be disclosed to anyone but the applicant.
