The Ambassador-Designate of the Czech Republic Mr. Pavel Vacek paid his Courtesy Call on Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Faruk Kaymakci on 21 September 2020

 

The Ambassador-Designate of the Czech Republic Mr. Pavel Vacek discussed during his first Courtesy Call on Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Director for EU Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Faruk Kaymakci the actual state-of-play of the Czech-Turkish bilateral relations, including planned bilateral visits, economic and trade relations, reciprocal students exchange and other fields of cooperation. Ambassador Vacek presented to Deputy Minister Kaymakci the candidature of Mr. Vladimir Dlouhy for the post of Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Also discussed were relations between EU and Turkey, situation in Eastern Mediterranean and other regional and security affairs. A shared interest was confirmed in keeping the Czech-Turkish ties strong and solid and in further intensifying bilateral cooperation in political and economical fields. Deputy Foreign Minister Kaymakci wished Ambassador Vacek warm welcome and success in his new assignment in Ankara.
