During their meeting on October 9, 2017, Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Turkey Mr. Pavel Kafka and Director of the Department of International Relations of the Middle East Technical University Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Bagci confirmed their interest to organize joint activities presenting mutual intersections of Czech, Czechoslovak and Turkish history which will be commemorated in the year 2018 by the 100th anniversary of the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918, events of 1968 and the 25th anniversary of the partition of the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic in 1993. In this regard, organization of expert discussion tables, topic based lectures, documentary film screenings and other joint activities that will emphasize the joint moments and important events of Czech, Czechoslovak and Turkish history were also discussed during the meeting.
