Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Ankara Mr. Pavel Kafka together with Associate Professor Bülent Batuman and Associate Professor Burcu Senyapili Özcan inaugurated on May 20, 2019 the Exhibition of 2019 Graduation Projects dedicated to Urban Design Development of Prague 7. Under the coordination of Mark Frederickson, the team of students of the Department of Architecture of the Bilkent University collaboratively generated, explored and synthesized alternative urban and site-specific concepts that address the creation of a sustainable and livable urban fabric. In cooperation with Architectural Institute of Prague (ARCHIP), the team focused on redevelopment of abandoned railyards and postindustrial waterfront of the Bubny district in Prague 7, which has undergone a significant urban transformation in the recent years and offers an ideal landscape for new design planning projects.
