Czech Embassy, together with the Embassies of France and Estonia and in cooperation with the municipalities of Çankırı and Ilgaz and the Turkish MFA organised the first edition of the Ski and Snowboard Race at Yıldıztepe, the Ilgaz mountains, on 27 February 2021. More than 50 racers of all age categories took part in the race, both from the Diplomatic Corps and Turkish partner institutions. The overall winner of the race is a young racer from Ilgaz, Ekrem Yıldırım who scored the best time overall (47.67 sec). The medal and prize ceremony was attended by the Governor of Çankırı Mr.Abdullah Ayaz, Mr. Selim Çivitcioğlu/MP, the DP of Protocol of MFA Mr. Ahmet Başar Şen,  Mayor of Çankırı Ismail Hakkı Esen, the Mayor of Ilgaz Mehmed Öztürk, the Prefect of Ilgaz Osman Uğurlu and was moderated by Czech Ambassador Pavel Vacek, the overall coordinator of the race, together with the race Director Mr. Mehmet Yelken of Ilgaz. 　

 

The race was made possible also thanks to our corporate partners and sponsors: Karspor and Skoda/Yüce of Turkey as well as skimaker Lusti, skiwear maker OStyle and Budvar brewery of Czechia. Thanks to them 3 young Turkish racers have won racing skis.

 3 young skiers of Ilgaz won racing skis (by Lusti.cz) with bindings (by Karspor.tr) for their results in the CD race - receive congratulations from Mr. Selim Çivitcioğlu/MP of Çankırı.
