On 5 February 2020, EU Ambassadors met Minister of Foreign Affairs of Republic of Turkey Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu to discuss current issues of the EU - Turkey relations, the situation in the Middle East and the Eastern Mediterranean. On the relations with the EU, Minister Çavuşoğlu stated that Turkey was ready to open new pages of relations with EU countries and to deepen mutual relations. Furthermore, Turkey attaches great importance to the modernization of the Customs Union between the two parties.
