Visa and Consular Information

Currently, the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Baghdad receives visa applications ONLY FROM HOLDERS OF IRAQI DIPLOMATIC OR SERVICE PASSPORTS travelling to Czechia, Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Hungary and Poland.

Czech Embassy in Baghdad DOES NOT represent Austria, Belgium, Estonia, Hungary or Poland in issuing short-term (Schengen) or long-term (national) visas for holders of Iraqi ordinary passports. These applicants are kindly requested to directly contact the responsible embassies or consulates of the countries mentioned.

Holders of ordinary passports wishing to travel to the Czech Republic for any purposes are kindly requested to apply at the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Erbil, where appointments can be booked at visa_erbil@mzv.cz and related inquires submitted at the consulate email: consulate_erbil@mzv.cz. IMPORTANT NOTICE: Please address all questions related to visa applications lodged by ordinary passport holders travelling to Czechia to the Consulate General in Erbil who is the only competent authority to answer them.

For any questions related to visas for diplomatic and service passport holders and legalization issues please contact: +964 780 555 0707 – English/Arabic only, Sun – Thu from 9:00 to 15:00. Inquiries regarding visa for ordinary passport holders and other than official trips will not be dealt with.

 

Visa applications processing

Diplomatic and service passport holders need to request an appointment by contacting the consular section of the Embassy in Baghdad at consulate_baghdad@mzv.cz

Decision on a visa application is taken within 15 calendar days of lodging. Please take this into consideration when planning your trip and visa appointment. Application lodged less than 15 days before the intended date of travel will not be accepted. The application can be lodged 3 months before the intended date of departure at the earliest.

Office hours for submitting applications are from Sunday to Thursday, from 9:00 till 12:00.

Please note that any visa-related inquiries sent to any other email addresses of the Embassy but the consulate_baghdad@mzv.cz will be disregarded and not responded to.

The passports can be collected in person or through an authorized agent from Sundays to Thursday from 13:00 till 15:00 upon confirmation from the Embassy.

 

VISA APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (Diplomatic and Service Passport Holders)

1) Filled in and signed Application Form

2) Original of valid diplomatic or service passport + copy of passport data page; passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the intended departure from the Schengen Area.

3) Recent passport photograph, compliant with ICAO standards, glued, NOT STAPLED, to the application form

4) Original documents proving the purpose of journey (invitation letter and ministerial note in all cases, programme of the business trip, travel itinerary,  etc.)

5) Visa Fee of 80 EUR payable in cash only (does not apply to the diplomatic or service passport holders travelling on official/political business). Credit cards, personal or business checks, other currencies than euro are NOT accepted.

6) Proof of sufficient financial means for the intended stay in the Schengen area

7) Travel health insurance valid for the whole Schengen area and covering the entire period of intended stay; minimum coverage needs to be 30.000 EUR and include repatriation.

8) Proof of accommodation (for example: invitation, hotel voucher, confirmation of accommodation, etc.)

9) Valid return flight ticket reservation
