Czech Deputy Minister of Health in Azerbaijan

On 23-26 May 2021, a delegation led by Deputy Minister of Health of the Czech Republic, Mr. Radek Policar, visited Azerbaijan. The visit of the delegation which included representatives of nine Czech companies was co-organised by the Czech Embassy and the CzechTrade office in Baku along with the Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Medical Devices.

The programme of the visit included working meetings between Deputy Minister Policar and Azerbaijani officials including the Acting Minister of Healthcare, H.E. Teymur Musayev, the Director of the State Agency for Mandatory Health Insurance Mr. Zaur Əliyev and the Head of the Administration of Regional Medical Divisions (TƏBİB) Mr. Ramin Bayramlı. In addition to these government-to-government meetings which focused on sharing Czech experience with transition from the “Semashko” to the “Bismarck” health insurance model and other possible avenues of deeper bilateral cooperation, Deputy Minister Policar participated in the opening of the Czech-Azerbaijani Medical Business Forum organised by the CzechTrade office in Baku on 25 May. While Czech medical devices are already widely used in Azerbaijan, the business-to-government and business-to-business meetings with representatives of Azerbaijani clinics on 23-26 May contributed to a further promotion of products and services offered by the Czech companies which participated at the delegation.
