Important role in that plays the Joint declaration on strategic partnership, which presidents Milos Zeman and Ilham Aliyev signed in September 2015.

Aside from the visit to the Parliament of Azerbaijan the official program of the delegation included meeting with deputy minister of economy Mr. Sahil Babayev, deputy minister of agriculture Mr. Seyfaddin Talibov and deputy head of Azerbaijani Railways Mr. Alirza Suleymanov. During the discussions with those respective institutions new propositions for the future joint project were identified. By all means there is much in the sphere of cooperation between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan to follow up on. For example reconstruction of the Azerbaijani part of Baku – Tbilisi – Kars railway corridor, which is being realized by the Czech company Moravia Steel is nearing its completion.
