The Czech Republic and Germany shared their experience with Azerbaijan in the field of metrology

Two years ago the European Union and State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent of the Republic of Azerbaijan launched the Twinning Project aimed to strengthen the metrology system in this South Caucasus country. Implementation of the project was entrusted to the consortium of Czech Metrology Institute and German Physikalish Technische Bundesanstalt.

The main aim of the Twinning was to support Azerbaijan access to the world markets through the development of metrology system in accordance with the European and international best practices, standards, norms and processes.

The successful project came to the end on 16th January 2018. At the closing ceremony the Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mr. Vitezslav Pivonka described the project as: “very successful endeavor, which assured that from now on the both parties will always speak the same language.”

Overall budget of the project was 1 200 000 euro.
