Baku - Prague: 40 years later

On 12 February 2021, an exhibition of works by four friends - Arif Hüseynov, Fikrət Həşimov, Josef Velčovský and Pavel Vavrys opened at the Vəcihə Səmədova gallery of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijani in Baku, Xaqani küçəsi 43. A testimony to 40 years of friendship among this group of Azerbaijani and Czech artists, this is the first art exhibition in Azerbaijan since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will remain open until the end of February.

National Artist Fərhad Xəlilov, chairman of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, participated at the opening of the exhibition along with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Czech Republic Milan Ekert and Madam Qənirə Paşayeva, chairperson of the Cultural Committee of the Milli Məclis and both of the exhibiting artists from Azerbaijan. Mr. Velčovský and Mr. Vavrys could, unfortunately, not participate due to restrictions related to the ongoing pandemic.
