Czech biology research team in Azerbaijan

It has become a good tradition for the staff of the Czech Embassy in Baku at the beginning of summer to meet with the Czech team of biologists, regularly returning to Azerbaijan to continue their research, which began more than a decade ago.

This year, the team conducted its regular research in Lenkoran and for first time it has visited the westernmost Azerbaijani territory, Nakhichevan.  Mutual scientific contacts between biologists from the Charles University in Prague and the Baku State University have been developing not only with the field trips of Czech biologists to Azerbaijan, but also by the similar trips of their Azerbaijani colleagues to the Czech Republic.

During the discussion with Ambassador Mr. Vitězslav Pivoňka at Embassy members of the group shared the results of their research and unveiled the plan of their future activities in Azerbaijan. It was great to observe that the biological research has already become an important part in the complex mosaic of cooperation between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan in the sphere of science.
