In the opening part of his visit, Ambassador V. Pivoňka met the rector of the University Elkhan Huseynov. In the discussion with the rector  possibilities of cooperation between the Sumgait university and the Czech universities were assessed. After the introductory lecture, which the ambassador delivered to teachers and students,  a wide-ranging discussion followed. The discussion  touched the situation in the Czech Republic, its education system, the international position of the Czech Republic, its relationship with Azerbaijan.

The meeting was also used for the presentation of the Visegrad Group and the possibilities offered to grantees by the International Visegrad Fund.
