Visit to the Maryam Charity Centre

H.E. Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Azerbaijan with spouse visited the Maryam Charity Centre, which belongs to the Catholic Church. During their visit to the Centre Mr. Ambassador and his spouse were accompanied by the head of Catholic Church in Azerbaijan don Vladimir Fekete. Using this opportunity, don Fekete awarded the Czech Ambassador with Commemorative Medal on the Occasion of the Papal visit to Baku in October 2016.


The Centre Maryam operates in Azerbaijan since 2004 and it is managed by Slovakian Salesians. Its aim is to provide tutoring for those pupils of primary and secondary schools, who might find it necessary to fully comprehend the subjects discussed in their respective educational institutions. Besides that the Centre offers various courses focused on development of individual skills and requalification courses for unemployed youths.


The selection of complementary education the Centre Maryam is able to organize encompasses tutoring of all subject of the obligatory education (Azerbaijani language and literature, history, physics, chemistry, mathematics), foreign languages (English, German, Italian, Russian), training apprenticeship (in professions like: plumber, electrician, welder, hairstylist, tailor) and various computer classes (CISCO certified courses, computer design and graphic, MS Office programs). Aside from that the Centre Maryam offers short-term courses aimed to increase the candidate’s chances on labor market and wide selection of sport and free-time activities for children.
