Czech Republic as a Perspective Partner for Emerging Azerbaijan Aviation Industry

There are not so many countries in the world, which have mastered the whole cycle of aircraft construction. Specifically it means the ability to go through the whole process starting from designing through prototyping to the mass production of a new airplane. Czech Republic has become the rightful member of this prestigious club as early as in 1919 and from that time it retains not only the ability to produce light small aircraft but military and transport planes as well. This was the reason why Azerbaijan has chosen the Czech Republic as a perspective partner for its emerging aviation industry. The difficult task of presenting the Czech Republic’s aviation industry bright past and more importantly, its present had become the main goal of the joint efforts of Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Industry and Trade and the CzechTrade Agency during a weeklong presentation for the team of Azerbaijani specialists.

The presentation itself took place from 1st to 7th September 2019 in the Czech Republic and was attended by the high-ranking representatives from the most important players in the field of civilian aviation in Azerbaijan – AZAL and SIlkway airlines and the Haydar Aliyev International Airport in particular. During their stay in the Czech Republic the Azerbaijani participants had a great opportunity to acquaint themselves in detail with the various products the Czech companies have on offer starting from domestically made aircraft, through various equipment and training services needed for efficient and safe movement of air traffic.

Besides the practical demonstrations of aviation technologies, which included among others a visit to the Aviation Museum in Kbely the participants had the opportunity to meet with deputy minister of industry and trade of the Czech Republic Mr Vladimir Bartl. The rest of the official programme comprised of meetings with the Czech companies such as: AERO Vodochody AEROSPACE a.s., Aircraft Industries a.s., Czech Aviation Training Centre s.r.o., DOVA Aircraft s.r.o., HTP Ostrava CZ a.s., LOM Praha s.p., MESIT Aerotrade a.s., MPI Group s.r.o., PRAGA Avia s.r.o., ZALL JIHLAVAN Airplanes s.r.o., ZLIN Aircraft a.s.
