Czech business mission accompanies the Speaker of Parliament to Azerbaijan

It has become a good practice during last years that the Czech Republic’s officials are accompanied during their visits to foreign countries by the delegation of Czech entrepreneurs. The visit of Czech Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Jan Hamacek was no exception in this regard. The mission itself was organized by the Czech Chamber of Commerce for CIS Countries in collaboration with the Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic and Azerbaijani Export and Investment Promotion Foundation – AzPromo. The most important event of the businessmen’s program was the meeting session between the Czech and Azerbaijani entrepreneurs which took place 14th March in the friendly atmosphere of Baku Business Centre.
 

In contrast to the previous visits, this time the meeting session was organized in a bilateral format. Representatives of the Azerbaijani companies had a unique opportunity to find the most suitable of their Czech counterparts in terms of establishing the business contacts. Chosen meeting format and a generous amount of time allocated for this purpose have also allowed the Azerbaijani businessmen to become thoroughly familiar with all the goods and services participating Czech companies had to offer.

In total almost 50 companies from both states have participated in the session. They covered whole spectrum of business activities ranging from tourism, logistics, pharmaceuticals, finance to petrochemical industry. Among the Czech participants were companies such as: Bohemia-lázně a.s., Česká exportní banka a.s., Dr. Müller Pharma s.r.o., Exportní garanční a pojišťovací společnost a.s., EGT Express CZ s.r.o., Gumárny Zubří a.s., Lázně Teplice v Čechách a.s., SIGMA Pumpy Hranice s.r.o., Škoda Praha a.s. The meeting session was also attended by the representatives of the Economic and Commercial section of the Czech Embassy in Azerbaijan and the representative of the Czech Export Promotion Agency CzechTrade.

During the event the president of AzPromo Mr. Rufat Mammadov met with the president of Confederation of Industry Mr. Jaroslav Hanak and the director of CIS Chamber of Commerce Mr. Frantisek Masopust. Together they have discussed the possibilities of developing the cooperation between their institutions further and expanding the volume of mutual trade between the Czech Republic and Azerbaijan.
