Traveling to the Czech Republic during the pandemic

On 4 May 2020, the Government of the Czech Republic approved Resolution No. 511 on the adoption of a crisis measure with effect from 11 May 2020. 

The obligation of Czech citizens and relevant categories of foreigners to notify the date and method of repatriation in advance by filling in the online form of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is cancelled. After crossing the borders of the Czech Republic, you can use public transport or a taxi to travel to your place of residence. Before traveling to the Czech Republic, a medical certificate on SARS-CoV-2 PCR testing results is required (medical confirmation must not be older than 4 days). Restrictions on free movement within the Czech Republic for a period of 14 days after crossing the border are required.


Measures that are in effect due to the COVID-19 pandemic do not allow for

accepting visa and residence permit applications

continuing of processing of applications already submitted at diplomatic missions of the Czech Republic.
