Declaring a state of emergency, the Czech Republic stops accepting visa applications and issuing visas until further notice and takes further measures restricting access of foreigners to the country

The Government of the Czech Republic declared a state of emergency until 17 May 2020 in response to the coronavirus pandemic. As a result, the Czech Embassy in Baku was ordered to stop, with immediate effect, to accept all (short and long term) visa applications, including through the VFS Global Visa Center, until further notice. The decision making process on all pending visa applications as well as the process of collecting letters of appeal from rejected visa applicants have also been suspended until further notice. The measures mentioned above also apply to family members of EU/EEA/UK citizens. All already issued visas are valid.

Categories of foreigners who are allowed to enter the Czech Republic under the current state of emergency are specified at the website of the Ministry of Interior.
