(This article expired 18.10.2021 / 23:45.)

We are pleased to launch a call for proposals for a Small Scale Projects (SSPs) for the year 2022 directly managed by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok.

The projects can focus on various sectors - preferably environment, agriculture, health, education, and social services. All projects should be in accordance with the national development strategy and promote gender equality and respect for the environment.

A project can be funded with a budget from 200 000 CZK (approx. 9 000 USD) to 500 000 CZK (approx. 23 000 USD) maximum. Co-funding from the applicant or other sources is welcome. Total sum of personal and travel costs must not exceed 25% of total SSP budget. Maximum SSP duration is from signing of Contract (approx. March) to October, i.e. 8-9 months in total.

Only organizations with legal capacity in Thailand or Laos can submit an SSP proposal:

  • local non-governmental, community and not-for-profit organizations,
  • local academic institutions working on local projects,
  • international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional institutions, organizations and agencies working on local development activities,
  • municipal, regional or national government institutions or agencies of the recipient country working on local projects.

The majority of SSP funding is to be directed toward local civil society organizations (including non-governmental organizations) and other institutions working at the local level. Other entities, such as international, intergovernmental, multilateral and regional organizations can be eligible for a contribution, provided that they are working with local partners and on local projects. Similarly, municipal, regional or national government institutions may receive SSP funding provided that their projects are essentially local in nature.

All proposals should be delivered to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok, email: bangkok@embassy.mzv.cz both in electronic form (editable AND scanned with a signature), and paper form (e.g. by post). The proposals must contain:

  • completed Identification Form with stamp and signature (see attachment),
  • copy of the Document proving the Applicant’s legal capacity,
  • copy of the Authorization of the signed person to act on the Applicant’s behalf.

  • Interested entities should submit their proposals to the Embassy of the Czech Republic no later than October 18, 2021. Successful applicants should sign a Contract for implementation of the project with the Embassy of the Czech Republic no later than March 15, 2022.
  • All SSP activities should be finished no later than October 31, 2022. However, due to the fact that it is necessary to finish all the paperwork and inspection/monitoring of project results, it is recommended that all project activities are finished by October 15 at the latest.
  • Successful applicants must submit a Final Report and all relevant financial documents to the Embassy of the Czech Republic as soon as possible after the SSP conclusion, not later than November 20, 2022.

Please download and use the attached Identification Form below in order to submit your proposal. Only proposals duly prepared and submitted in this form and in line with these instructions will be admitted for evaluation. Project calculations in terms of financial requirements should be filled in using either USD, EUR, or THB as project currencies in order to facilitate conversion to CZK.

Please also bear in mind that currency fluctuations need to be taken into account. Contracts for awarded SSPs will be quoted in CZK, and the approved CZK amount is final and cannot be changed. It is thus necessary to take this into account during project and budget preparation and allocation in the Identification Form.
