Permission to transit to/though the Czech Republic

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok confirms that in spite of restrictions due to COVID-19 outbreak the Czech citizens are allowed to transit to the Czech Republic. 

The Embassy confirms that in spite of the State of emergency declared by the Czech Government, under Constitutional Act No. 110/1198 Coll., on the Security of the Czech Republic, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the Czech citizens are allowed to transit from Austria, Finland, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Netherlands, Russia, Switzerland and the UK to the Czech Republic either by connecting flights, buses provided the Czech Government or by a car driven by his/her family member.

The Embassy also confirms that the prohibition of entry to the Czech Republic does not apply to:

  1. EU citizen transiting through the Czech Republic territory to his/her home country – must accompanied by a note of the Embassy or Consulate of a home country,
  2. foreigner with residence permit in another EU Member State transiting through the Czech Republic territory – this transit must accompanied by a note of the Embassy or Consulate of a destination country,
  3. spouse of a Czech citizen - must be accompanied by a marriage certificate - the exception is for the purpose of a single arrival in the Czech Republic.
  4. Foreigner staying temporarily over 90 days or permanently residing in the Czech Republic and minor children of citizens of the Czech Republic who were outside the Czech Republic prior to the issuing of a ban on repatriation.
