General information on targeted economic migration:

The Government of the Czech Republic, with effect from 1 September 2019, decided to introduce quotas for the receipt of applications for employment cards and long-term visas for business purposes, within the framework of the need to secure labor for the Czech labor market and the related concept of targeted economic migration. The main goal of the concept of targeted economic migration is to strengthen the influx of skilled labor from selected countries to the Czech Republic.

An annual quota of 280 applications for employee cards has been set for Thailand, of which 220 are for ordinary employee cards and 60 for employee cards under the High Qualified Employee and The Key and Scientific Staff programs.

This quota is non-exceedable, ie the embassy may not accept more applications than stipulated by a government decree. The quota is divided evenly over 12 months, no unused slots are carried over to the following month. Information on the electronic booking of appointments for the upcoming two months is published on our website.

Obligatory adaptation-integration courses

Every foreign national who is issued a long-term residence permit for the territory of the Czech Republic is obliged to take the adaptation and integration course within one year of the date of collecting their residence permit.
