Employee Card: Appointments for October-December 2022

Applications for Employee Card outside the programs of targeted economic migration are accepted only by appointment. It can be arranged through a system of registration for appointments on quaterly basis.




Employee Card is required for citizens of the so-called third countries who will be employed in the Czech Republic for more than three months. Employee Card is issued for a specific job position. Vacancies available to foreign nationals are displyed in a central vacancies database. To file an Eployee Card application, the applicant needs to know the vacancy reference number = the number under which the position is registered in the central vacancies database.

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok is entitled to accept 280 applications for employee card per year, of which 220 are ordinary employee cards and 60 employee cards within the framework of the High Qualified Employee and the Key and Scientific Staff programs.

The mentioned quota is non-exceedable, i.e. the embassy may not accept more applications than stipulated by a government decree. The quota is divided evenly over 12 months, no unused slots are carried over to the following month.

Applications for ordinary employee card (i.e. outside the framework of the targeted economic migration programs) are accepted by appointment only. To register for an appointment please see the System of registration for submission of employee card application.

There is no other way to arrange an appointment for a submission of the Employee card Application.

The above mentioned system of registration applies to citizens of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Citizens of other countries are eligible only if they poses a valid residence-permit in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia for the period longer than 1 year. In that case they have to present their residence-permit at the registration. Exceptions to this rule can be consulted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.





Appointment schedule emerged from the System of registration for submission of employee card application.

There will be no other form of informing applicants about assigned appointments (by phone, email or any other way).


Employee Card Application is to be submitted by appointment only to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok.

An applicant is to present two sets of the following documents (one original + one photocopy):

  1. Application Form - duly and fully completed (it is not possible to fill the form in at the Embassy). Please fill in all boxes marked in pink in the attached sample form
  2. Passport - valid for minimum 1 year from the date of submitting the application
  3. Two passport photographs
  4. Employment contract, work agreement or letter of intent (not older than 180 days) -  indicating that the applicant will earn at least minimal wage, regardless of the extent of the work, and work at least 15 hours per week
  5. Document proving professional qualification (if required for the position) - duly legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand
  6. Document providing accommodation (not older than 180 days)
  7. Criminal Record Extract  (not older than 180 days) - duly legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand
  8. Power of Attorney (in case of representation for the application proceedings) - an original written document providing a representative´s Czech data mailbox ID. The aplicant may have only one representative in the same case at the same time. In case of a legal entity it is required to indicate on what basis the authorized person is entitled to act on its behalf.
  9. Fee (5,000 CZK payable in THB either in cash or by card - the amount is converted into the applicant´s currency at the exchange rate set by the applicant´s bank)
  10. Travel medical insurance - to be submitted later if visa is approved

Embassy further informs that the Employee Card application submission does not guarantee receiving the visa. The applications are decided by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.


Every foreign national who is issued a long-term residence permit for the territory of the Czech Republic is obliged to take the adaptation and integration course within one year of the date of collecting their residence permit.
