EMPLOYEE CARD - appointments and registration

Registration for employee card application appointments for the period July - September 2024 will take place at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok on days May 27-31, 2024, always at 1-3 p.m.

REGISTRATION SYSTEM

Employee Card Application is submitted in person at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok based on an assigned appointment.

Appointments are assigned based on a registration system of electronic draw of appointments.

This registration system applies to citizens of Thailand, Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia. Citizens of other countries are eligible only if they prove that they have been permitted to stay legally and continuously in Thailand, Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia for at least two years. In that case they have to present their residence-permit at the registration. Exceptions to this rule can be consulted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.

Employee Card Application is to be submitted in two sets of documents, one containing originals of all requirements and the other containing their copies. Visa fee applies. Application that is not properly completed will not be accepted. 

REGISTRATION FOR FUTURE APPOINTMENTS

The next registration will be open for the possible arrangement of appointments for submissions of an Employee Card applications for the period from July to September 2024.

In case the total number of registrations exceeds 55 entries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic will draw the total of 55 entrants from all the submitted entries. The quota number is based on the decision of the Government of the Czech Republic that sets an annual quota of the Employee Card applications. Only those registrations that meet the conditions below will be eligible for the electronic draw.

  1. Registration will be open May 27-31, 2024, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. each day.
  2. Applicant or his/her authorized representative shall come in person to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bangkok. 71/6 Ruam Rudee Soi 2, Ploenchit Rd., Lumpini, Pathumwan, Bangkok 10330.
  3. The applicant is allowed to submit one registration only.
  4. The authorized representative is allowed to register only one applicant. Power of attorney must be presented.
  5. Applicant shall present the ID (preferably passport), a copy of the data page of the passport of the applicant and the employment contract. The representative shall submit the copy of the data page of the passport of the applicant, the employment contract of the applicant, power of attorney and the representative´s own ID (preferably passport).
  6. Administrative fee of 1,000 CZK (payable in THB at the current exchange rate) applies for the registration. The fee is nonrefundable.
  7. Applicant will receive an acknowledgment receipt and a unique number to the electronic draw. Paying the registration fee does not guarantee that the applicant will receive an appointment for an Employee Card submission.
  8. Embassy will notify numbers drawn in the electronic draw on its website by June 15, 2024 at the latest. The Embassy will also make public the registration numbers that were not drawn. The Embassy will not be notifying selected applicants directly (phone, email, etc.).
  9. There is no possibility to reschedule if the selected applicant fails to arrive for a scheduled appointment (no matter the reason).

The Embassy would like to point out that the registration does not guarantee that an applicant will get an appointment to apply for the Employee Card. Of all registered applicants, only 55 will be drawn in the electronic draw. The list of selected applicants and the dates of their Employee Card appointments will be announced on the Embassy´s website.

Embassy further informs that the submission of an Employee Card application does not guarantee receiving the visa. The applications are decided by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.

The above mentioned system is in accordance with the article 169f of the Act No. 326/1999 Coll., on the Residence of Foreign Nationals in the Territory of the Czech Republic and the Ruling of the Supreme Administrative Court of the Czech Republic (for example resolution number Azs 153/2016 of May 30, 2017).

The Embassy will notify the next registration date (for the period of October-December 2024 and any other coming quarters of a year) on this website.
