The visa applications submission at the Consular and Visa Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic

Following the Resolution no. 511 of the Government of the Czech Republic of 4 May 2020 and the end of the State of emergency in the Czech Republic on 18 May 2020, the Consular and Visa Section of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing partially renewed its visa services. The services are limited to certain types and purposes as stated below.

The scope of available services:

Short-term (Schengen) visas:

Acceptance of applications from       

Please be aware that this DOES NOT include purposes such as TOURISM, ADS, FAMILY/FRIENDS VISITS or BUSINESS.

Since 26 May 2020, the acceptance has been extended for:

  • employment in the food-processing industry

Long-term Visas and Residence Permits:

a) Acceptance of applications for        

Since 18 May 2020, the acceptance has been extended as follows:

  • Long-term residence permits for the purpose of scientific research and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children
  • Long-term and permanent residence permits for the purpose of family reunification, but only in those cases, when the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment
  • Long-term visas for the family purpose, but only in those cases, when the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment
  • Student Facilitation Program (Režim student)
  • Long-term visas for the purpose of collecting residence permits (D/VR type visa) – the so-called visa sticker transfer – for any purpose of stay

b) Resumption of processing of applications

  • As of 18 May 2020, processing of all applications for long-term visas and residences, that have been accepted before the state of emergency and the protective measures, continues.

In accordance with the Preventive Measure of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic No. MZDR 20599/2020-13/MIN/KAN, dated 30 June 2020, all applicants for a short-term or long-term visa or residence permits for the purpose of employment or study/training are obliged as of 13 July 2020 to present a declaration of their employer/educational institution as per § 31 par. 3, letter b) of Law no. 326/1999 Coll., on the stay of foreigners in the Czech territory - document on fulfilling requirements against the introduction of infectious disease. 


NOTICE: Entry to the territory of the Czech Republic

Foreign nationals are kindly requested to check the conditions of entry to the Czech Republic before their travel.

Similarly, foreign nationals are requested to see what quarantine measures - if any, they need to observe after their arrival to the Czech Republic. Quarantine measures may include the requirement to submit a negative COVID-19 test.
