Czech Embassy participates in the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women

The United Nations General Assembly has designated November 25 as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The premise of the day is to raise awareness of the fact that women around the world are subject to rape, domestic violence and other forms of violence. For this occasion the building of the Czech Embassy in Beijing is lit up for a period of one week in orange colour under this years theme “Orange the World”.
The 2019 theme for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women is ‘Orange the World: Generation Equality Stands Against Rape’. Iconic buildings and landmarks are ‘oranged’ to recall the need for a violence-free future. Events to mark this important cause take place around the world and conclude on 10 December 2019, which is International Human Rights Day.
