Press release on the occasion of the handover of material humanitarian aid to China for the fight against coronavirus Covid-19

A Czech government charter plane carrying humanitarian aid landed in Beijing on Monday, 2nd March 2020 at 13:50 local time to help China combat coronavirus Covid-19.

The Czech aircraft has five tons of material medical assistance on board. The assistance is in response to the requirements of Chinese provinces, cities and universities that have partners in the Czech Republic.

The donors of the material assistance are the Office of the President of the Czech Republic, the Pardubice Region, the Olomouc Region, the South Moravian Region, the Karlovy Vary Region, the Vysočina Region, the City of Třebíč and private companies such as Škoda auto a.s.

The humanitarian aid was handed over to the Chinese at Beijing Capital Airport by the Czech Ambassador to the People's Republic of China, Vladimír Tomšík. It includes 780 000 pairs of gloves, 43 000 masks and respirators and 6 800 sets of protective clothing.
