Visegrad Group for twenty years together - a press conference in Beijing

The heart of Europe beats in four-stroke - after 20 years together, at first “triangle” composed by Czechoslovakia (which after 1993 became two independent states), Hungary and Poland, joined by Slovakia after 1993, represents a broad center of the continent and also a bridge between East and West .

These four countriesoffer its partners a uniqueexperience of former membership in the Communist bloc, and now seven-year membership in the EuropeanUnion, from the process of economic, politicaland culturaltransformation and the transition from state-controlled to a market economy.

This regionoffers Chinaas leading member of developing world economiesplenty of interesting possibilities- for Chinesecompanies becomesthe gateway not only to its markets, but also to the common EU market, Chinese investors canuse favorable conditions (from skilled labor through a geographicallysuitable locationto investmentincentives andinvolvement inprojects financed by EU funds). More and more Chinese tourists are discovering the beauty of these four countries, the volume and quality of cooperation inthe cultural field, education orresearch and development are increasing.

Press conferenceheld on Friday 27May 2011 atPoland'sEmbassy inBeijing hosted about 60 journalists from China was dedicated to the history of cooperation within the V4, itsfuture direction and potential for cooperation with thePRC. In addition to presentations of individual countriesand short promotion films, Chinese guests hadthe opportunity to watch at the end a short performanceof Polish folklore band Warszawiankaand asthe highlight of the program, sample traditional dishesfrom the region, along with Czechbeers ZUBR and Bernard.
