President Zeman presented the Czech exposition at the Shanghai Import Expo

The Czech Republic left an unforgettable impression with its national exposition at China's first and largest import trade show - China International Import Expo in Shanghai. On November 5, 2018, on the first day of the exhibition, President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Milos Zeman, personally welcomed the Chinese President, Mr. Xi Jinping, and other international leaders at the Czech national pavilion. His welcoming was truly original - a personal performance on the world-famous Czech piano Petrof. The Czech exposition was characterised by products and brands representing the best of the Czech industry, agriculture, tourism, culture and business.

The National Exposition concept at the China International Import Expo (CIIE) presented the potential of the Czech Republic across different areas of cooperation. Among the exhibits that attracted the most attention were Petrof's stylish piano, the new Škoda Kodiaq GT, introduced during the CIIE exclusively for the Chinese market. There were examples of popular Czech glass and crystal and a great attraction was the Czech beer, which was not resisted by Chinese President Xi himself.

President Zeman together with the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Marta Nováková, introduced to the world's guests other well-known Czech products, including the Aircraft Industries airplane L410, Tatra Truck and the Koh-I-Noor writing supplies. An attractive feature of the Czech exposition was tourism and visuals of CzechTourism with the beauties of the Czech Republic. Czech universities were presented within the campaign „Study in the Czech Republic“.

In addition to the national exposition, the Czech Republic was also present at CIIE in the form of commercial pavilions of food and service companies. President Zeman also visited one of these pavilions. The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic was responsible for the national exposition. The expositions of companies in commercial pavilions were carried out by the Czech-China Chamber of Cooperation, CzechTrade and CzechTourism.
