Ambassador Vladimír Tomšík at the prestigious China International Import Expo

The ambassador supported local importers of Czech production at the prestigious fair. Czech production was introduced thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. Deputy Prime Minister Karel Havlíček’s speech was presented via a video record.

On November 6, 2020, Ambassador Vladimír Tomšík visited the Czech exposition at the third China International Import Expo. The fair, which is traditionally held in Shanghai, is jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government. The Czech Republic presented itself with an exhibition focused on design production. This year's event takes place from 5 to 10 November and traditionally attracts, currently despite strict health and safety measures due to the danger of transmitting Covid-19, a lot of attention from visitors. Local representatives of almost thirty Czech brands, mostly from the glass industry, have the opportunity to address not only end consumers but also potential business partners with their production. The realization of the Czech exposition is supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic and the local representation of the CzechTrade agency.
Due to travel restrictions and other limitations, foreign guests could not attend this year's fair. The greeting of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade Karel Havlíček, was presented from a video recording. Ambassador Tomšík supported business activities not only by his participation at the trade fair stand, during which he gave several interviews to the Chinese media, but also by meeting with business partners of Czech companies at an event organized by the Consulate General of the Czech Republic in Shanghai.
