Czech Machine Tool Engineers in Beijing

The Czech Republic is a traditional participant in the prestigious Beijing Engineering Fair known as China International Machine Tool Show. This year, despite the COVID-19 epidemic, the Czech Republic did neither miss out.

Last year, the show did not take place due to the outbreak of the pandemic. This year, owing to the still in force travel restrictions, the Czech representatives had to be substituted by their local Chinese partners.

A total of eight Czech engineering companies displayed their expertise at the Czech exposition. They were, namely: Hestego, a.s., KSK Precise motion, a.s., SKODA MACHINE TOOL a.s., FERMAT CZ s.r.o., WALTER CZ, s.r.o., RETOS VARNSDORF s.r.o., TOS Olomouc s.r.o. a TOS VARNSDORF a.s. The Czech Association of Engineering Technology was also present.

The Czech Republic participated at the show in the form of Czech official participation organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic. The Trade Fairs Brno, a.s. company prepared the exposition.

Mr. Ladislav Horák, Head of the Economic Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beijing, took part at the official opening ceremony of the show and together with other important guests inaugurated the show with the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT) has been organized by the China Machine Tool Industry Association since 1989, i.e. for 32 years. After last year's interruption, more than 1,500 exhibitors from 27 countries and regions of the world participated on a total area of 135,000 m2 this year, including 870 Chinese exhibitors and 633 outside of China.

Due to the continuing epidemiological situation, the organizers are actively trying to organize a new way of exhibition, i.e. to link an offline physical exhibition with the online exhibition CIMT 2021 in order to create an effective interaction. From 18 April, industry participants can continue discussions online for another month.
