Distribution of humanitarian assistance from Moravia to Syrian women and children

The Czech Embassy in Beirut supported an initiative “A Drop of Hope” of the regional charity organization Caritas from Veseli nad Moravou, a city in the South Moravian region of the Czech Republic.
With the assistance of the Lebanese civic society AGHSAN, the Caritas collected donations in order to support Syrian women and their children who took refuge in southern Lebanese district of Marjeyoun (villages of Deirmimas, Kolayaa, Burj El Mluk, Marjeyoun, Debbine and Blat).
The ceremony of handing over the assistance was organized on January 25, 2014, in presence of AGHSAN´s President Dr. Kamel Morkos and Czech Ambassador Svatopluk Cumba.
The event was well received by local newspapers and TV channels who noted also the Press Statement released by AGHSAN.

Ambassador Cumba then visited Syrian refugee camp close to Marjeyoun where over 2.000 people from Idlib region are sheltered.
