Czech film at 22th European Film Festival

At the 22th European Film Festival (25.1.-6.2.2016, Beirut - Cinema Metropolis Empire Sofil, see below the complete program), the Czech cinematography will be represented by an film of Jiří Mádl "To See the Sea“. The Czech film will be screened on Friday 29 January at 17.30 hr.
 

To See the Sea depicts a story of an 11-year-old boy Tomáš who wishes to become a famous director.  When he gets a real camera for his birthday, he decides to shoot his first movie - about his family and a friend. Step by step, we meet his dad, mum, grandpa and his friend Harris. But Tomáš finds out soon that the camera is also able to reveal issues which are not pleasant…

The uniqueness of the film rests in the director´s seizure:  the whole story is told from the perspective of an 11-year-old boy, who shoots and directs his own movie.
