Honourable guests, dear friends,

It´s my great pleasure to welcome you at the latest event in the series of our year-round celebrations of the one hundred years of the Czechoslovak Republic. Even if this republic doesn’t exist anymore - and we have had two independent states for the last 25 years, as you all know well - the friendship between the Czechs and Slovaks is ever-lasting.

Tonight both our embassies have invited you to see a wonderful movie. It was made in a coproduction between the Czechs and the Slovaks and it tells the story of a famous Czechoslovak film star and her career and personal path starting in the fourth decade of the last century.

What makes us especially happy is the presence of the director of this high rated movie across Europe, Mr. Filip Renč. We are so pleased that he has accepted our invitation, and I have to tell you something: he did so without any hesitation! He has willing to come to Lebanon to present his work, to speak with you, our compatriots and friends of the Czechs and Slovaks and the representatives of the Lebanese media, about the genesis of this movie. He is ready to answer any of your questions.
