The construction of the reservoir was funded by the Czech Republic Humanitarian Aid Program. As another part of the project "Water and Sanitation Interventions in Bekaa", 200 water tanks were distributed to the most vulnerable households and 500 hygienic kits to a refugee settlement.
On January 23, 2019, the Ambassador of the Czech Republic Michaela Froňková participated in the handover of the reservoir to the Taraya Municipality. ADRA Czech Republic, that implemented the project in cooperation with ADRA Lebanon, was represented by director Radomír Špinka. Also present were Nagi Khalil, director of ADRA Lebanon, and Hamza Hamieh, the mayor of Taraya village.
ADRA Czech Republic and ADRA Lebanon will continue working on the project in 2019 with the aim of providing another village in the Bekaa region with a new water reservoir.
