Limited opening of the Visa Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut - What visas can be applied for

As of Monday, June 8, 2020, the Visa Section at the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Beirut has reopened and is operating with limited visa services for both Lebanon and Syria.

Basic health measures:

Before entering the Consulate, it is strictly recommended to keep on with health measures against Covid-19, keep the social health distance and obey the instructions of the security staff.
Only the person who has the confirmed and registered appointment will be allowed to enter the  premises of the Consulate. 
If the person is being symptomatic of Covid-19 disease, he/she wont be allowed to enter.
Wearing of facial mask is mandatory during the stay at the Consulate. Each person is obliged to use hand sanitiser which will be available at the entrance of the Consulate.

Visa applications and all related documents can´t be presented in any plastic foil /except documents in sealed foils/.
 

ADMISSION OF VISA APPLICATIONS

 

SCHENGEN VISA

Applications are currently accepted via VFS Global in Beirut  or directly at the Embassy of the Czech republic in Beirut. Applicants for the visas/permits listed below are expected to come  on the date and time of their appointment.

 

Categories of applicants who can apply for Schengen visa:         

family members of EU / Czech Republic citizens

● in the interest of the Czech Republic

international transport workers

critical infrastructure workers 

● diplomats and officials of international organizations

seasonal workers (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

● health, social services, and food processing employees

● employees in scientific, key and highly qualified professions fulfilling conditions of the Highly Qualified Worker Program and Key and Research Staff Program

in exceptional emergency situations as defined in Point I/4i) of the currently applicable Protective Measure of the Ministry of Health

 

LONG TERM VISA ABOVE 90 DAYS AND RESIDENCE PERMITS

The applications are accepted at the consulate only. The applicant has to arrive to the appointment on time.

 

a) Acceptance of applications for        

 

LONG-TERM VISA FOR THE PURPOSE OF SEASONAL EMPLOYMENT (based on Decree of the Ministry of Labor and Social Services No. 322/2017 Coll.)

SPECIAL WORK VISA

● visas / residence permits within the KEY AND SCIENTIFIC PERSONNEL PROGRAM, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the HIGHLY QUALIFIED EMPLOYEES PROGRAM, including family members

● visas / residence permits within the PROGRAM QUALIFIED EMPLOYEE  

PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR COMPATRIOTS (based on decree no. 1014/2014)

● BLUE CARDS and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

● LONG- TERM RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH and applications for long-term residence permits of their spouses and minor children

LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDY - visas can be issued only study in an accredited program

RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDY - visas can be issued only study in an accredited program

● LONG-TERM AND PERMANENT RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FAMILY UNIFICATION, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

● LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE FAMILY PURPOSE, but only if the family unification involves spouses and minor children of foreign nationals who already reside in the Czech Republic on a basis of a long-term or permanent residence permit; other family members cannot file these applications at the moment

visas for the purpose of collecting residence permits (the so-called D/VR type visa) – the so-called VISA STICKER TRANSFER – for any purpose of stay

LONG-TERM VISAS AND RESIDENCE PERMITS IF THE FOREIGN NATIONAL´S STAY IS IN THE INTEREST OF THE CZECH REPUBLIC and is supported by a corresponding document

● LONG-TERM VISAS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CULTURESPORTS and WORKING HOLIDAY

b) Resumption of processing of applications

Processing of all applications for long-term visas and residence permits that have been lodged before March 14, 2020 is resumed (i.e. examining of those applications that have been filed before the state of emergency and subsequent suspension of visa services is resumed).

 

NOTICE - ENTRY TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC

Effective from October 5th, 2020 the Government of the Czech Republic approved the declaration of the state of emergency in the whole territory of the Czech Republic.
Rules for entering the Czech Republic are defined by the Health Ministry Protective Measure that has been approved by the Minister of Health with an effect from October 5th, 2020.
All persons travelling from countries that are not on the list of the countries with a low risk of contagion have the obligation to contact the regional hygienic station according to the place of stay before their arrival. Electronic form is available here: Public Health Passenger Locator Form. This form has to be submitted also during the border control or the controls during the stay in the territory. More information on the Form is here (pdf, 166 kB). Arriving persons are obliged to undergo a PCR test in the Czech Republic within 5 days from the arrival. If the persons do not submit a PCR test result to the respective hygienic station within 7 days from the arrival, a necessary quarantine measure shall be ordered.
For all persons, who spend at least 12 hours in the last 14 days in the country that is not on the list of countries with a low risk of contagion, the free movement ban in the territory of the Czech Republic is applied for a period of 10 days from the day of entry. There is also an obligation to wear respiratory protective equipment for the same period of time.
Employees from the countries that are not on the list of countries with a low risk of contagion have to submit a PCR test result to their employer after arriving from these countries.

Third-country nationals with a proven long-lasting relationship with the EU citizen (who must have a certificate of temporary residence or permanent residence permit in CZE) will be allowed to enter the CZE. For obtaining an authorisation of the Ministry of Foreign affairs it is necessary to submit a declaration of honour of partnership download here. However, the authorisation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is issued only to the nationals of the countries not obliged to have a visa when entering Czech republic (Schengen) or to the holders of a valid Schengen visa issued no later than 11 May 2020.

Please note, that the requirements differ according to the nationality of a person, category of the person, country the person is travelling from, the length of stay spent in such country. Check here the details corresponding to your particular situation and the up to date measures in force.

Obligatory submission of document against introduction of infectious disease upon application submission

Starting July 13, 2020, applicants for Schengen visas and long-term visas and residence permits for purposes of economic and education activities are obliged to submit, upon lodging the application document on fulfilling requirements against introduction of infectious disease.

In case of grating a visa for applications lodged before this date, the document will be presented to the consulate before hand over of the visa!

ENTRY TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND THE  quarantine measures

Travel to the Czech Republic continues to be limited, particularly for the short-term travel, due to the pandemic.

Do refer to the OVERVIEW of who can currently visit on the website of the Ministry of the Interior, particularly to the pdf-table "Conditions for entry of persons to the territory of the Czech Republic (valid from September 21st, 2020 00:00) in accordance with the Ministry of Health Protective Measure".

Persons who can arrive must strictly follow the quarantine measures = fill out an arrival form (www.prijezdovyformular.cz) and get tested. Refer to the guidelines HERE.

Foreign nationals are requested to check the entry conditions to the Czech Republic before their travel. This information is regularly being updated by the Ministry of the Interior on its website, mainly in the pdf-format table "Conditions for entry of persons to the territory of the Czech Republic in accordance with the Ministry of Health Protective Measure." This table clearly indicates which quarantine measures, incl. possible obligation to test for COVID-19, pertain to which category of travelers.
