Commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the passing of President Václav Havel

The Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bern and the Permanent Mission of the Czech Republic to the United Nations Office, together with Marcela Bideau, Chair of the Swiss branch of the Olga Havel Goodwill Committee and vice-president of the Geneva city commemorated Václav Havel, the first post-communist President of the Czech Republic, on December 2, 2021, in Geneva.
Geneva is a city strongly associated with the idea of human rights, the establishment of the independent Czechoslovak state, and the new life of many Czechs and Slovaks after 1968.
The commemorative event took place at the Václav Havel Bench in Le Jardin des Alpes in Geneva.
