NATO Contact Point Embassy: "The future of NATO in the light of the Russian war in Ukraine"

As part of its activities as Contact Point Embassy to Switzerland, the Czech Embassy organized on 5 May 2023 a discussion of Ambassador Ivan Počuch, Director of the Security Policy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, with experts and researchers from the ETH Zűrich. The debate was moderated by Dr. Oliver Thränert, Director of the Center of Security Studies CSS/ETH think tank.
 

Debate in cooperation with CSS/ETH Director Prof. Dr. Andreas Wenger focused on the future of Europe and NATO in the context of the Allies´ assistance to the defence of Ukraine. Ivan Počuch recalled the reasons for the establishment of a NATO Contact Point Embassy to Switzerland, which is an important Western European partner of the Alliance. He summarised the historical circumstances of the Czech Republic's accession to NATO and expressed his conviction that in the current deteriorating security situation Ukraine is fighting for the freedom and security of all of us.
