Professional career of Ambassador Pavel KLUCKÝ

Accumulated professional experience in the multilateral diplomacy dealing mostly with non-proliferation of the Weapons of Mass Destruction and with the Middle East and North Africa issues:   

2019 –          : Ambassador of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium
2014 – 2018:    Director of Middle East and North Africa Department
2009 – 2013: Czech Ambassador to Algeria and Mali
2009 – 2005: Head of Non-Proliferation Unit of MFA, Head of the Czech delegations to number of international meetings (Nuclear Suppliers Group, Zangger Committee, Missile Technology Control Regime)


Served as the Head of following international multilateral bodies:

2009: Chairman of the EU Non Proliferation Working Group (CONOP) during the Czech EU Presidency
2006-2009: Chairman of Zangger Committee (ZC); the Committee is an international export control regime which is closely connected with the work of NPT and 1540 UNSCR Committee

2006-2007: Chairman of the Licensing and Enforcement Experts Meetings (LEEM) of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG)

Served also as Alternate of Czech Permanent Representative to IAEA and PTS CTBTO in Vienna

Served as Deputy Head of Embassy, UAE

Established the first ever Czech diplomatic presence in Saudi Arabia after the Gulf war in 1991
