Deputy Minister Chmelař received by the Deputy Minister at the Belgian MFA

On 22 May 2019, Deputy Minister for European Affairs Aleš Chmelař held consultations with the Deputy Minister for Coordination and European Affairs Theodore Gentzis in Brussels. The discussion focused in particular on the current EU agenda.

The aim of the meeting was to provide a forum for more in-depth discussion and clarification of the national positions that each country presents at the EU Councils. The discussion was for example about continued cooperation between the V4 and Benelux regional groupings, the rule of law in the EU, the multiannual financial framework for 2021-2027, social policy, EU enlargement and the Eastern Partnership.

Belgium was keenly interested in the Czech view of cyber security and the fight against disinformation.
