The event was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Belgium in cooperation with the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU, the International Organization of La Francophonie and the Permanent Representation of Romania to the EU.

Luminiţa Odobescu, Permanent Representative of Romania to the EU and the chair of the Group of Francophone Ambassadors to Brussels (GAF-B), warmly welcomed all guests and stressed the importance of supporting multilingualism and learning from each other in the context of celebrating the 30th anniversary of the fall of communism in Europe. Ambassador Stéphane Lopez, Permanent Representative of the International Organization of La Francophonie, mentioned his diplomatic stay in Budapest and pointed out the historical context of cooperation between Central European countries.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic in Brussels, Pavel Klucký, explained the way of the cooperation between the V4 member states from the position of the V4 presidency and presented the priorities of the Czech Presidency. He also stressed the dramatic development of the Czech Republic in the 20th century and recalled the philosophical legacy of Václav Havel and the relevance of his ideas for today. Peter Kormúth, Ambassador of Slovakia to Belgium and Luxembourg, explained the functioning of the Visegrad Fund which supports more than 5000 divers projects. The Hungarian Ambassador to Belgium, Tamás Iván Kovács, highlighted the attractiveness of Hungary for foreign investors caused mainly by the low taxes, overall transport and affordability of the Central European region. Deputy Head of Mission at the Polish embassy in Brussels, Joanna Doberszyc-Toulsaly, mentioned the historical development of Poland and current political priorities.

Individual presentations aroused high interest of the audience. After the presentation the topics such as the possibility of replication of the V4 model in the Western Balkans and bigger interconnection of La Francophonie and V4 countries were discussed. Afterwards the guests were invited by the Czech V4 Presidency to informal discussion over a cup of coffee and Czech strudel.
