The University of Antwerp is a young and dynamic school with a future-oriented approach. It is an adherent of active pluralism in whose spirit it supports critical research and teaching, analysis and discussion on scientific, social, philosophical and ethical topics.

37 Czech students, mostly from the Charles University, Masaryk University Brno, Palacky University Olomouc, Prague University of Economics and the Prague University of Chemistry and Technology, are currently studying at Antwerp as a part of their Erasmus programme. The Czech Republic finds itself third in the number of international students at Antwerp. The university is satisfied with their academic skills. 8 students from Antwerp are currently taking their Erasmus in the Czech Republic.

The University of Antwerp has long been a partner to universities in the Czech Republic. During the meeting, the parties studied an analysis of the current situation of this collaboration as well as a list of areas, in which the Czech Republic would like to increase its activity- long term collaboration with academics in research as well as teaching, internships and traineeships abroad, double/joint degrees, cooperation in science and technology, exchange of tutors and academic, exchanges of researchers, energy and the environment, shared programmes within the Horizon 2020 framework, lifelong learning programmes, etc., as well as what the Czech Republic could offer- English language study programmes, practical education in cutting edge laboratories, specific study programmes such as biotechnology, nanotechnology or mechatronics, presence at conferences, spin-off innovation, or healthcare programmes like nursing, social work/charity, plant medicine, viticulture, etc.

As a part of the Utrecht Network, which focuses on the internationalisation of universities, Antwerp has a partner programme with the Masaryk University in the Czech Republic. The university has international ties in the fields of research (Charles University), biology, biomedicine, physics, history or mathematics.
