Czech Christmas Concert

The Delegation of Prague to the EU in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic to the Kingdom of Belgium and Czech Center in Brussels organized on the 12th December 2017 the traditional Christmas Concert in the Church of Notre Dame du Sablon.
The organizers of this traditional Christmas concert invited the extraordinary Zemlinsky Quartet formed by František Souček (violin), Petr Střížek (violin), Petr Holman (viola) and Vladimír Fortin (violoncello). At the beginning of the evening Tamara Katuščák, Chargé d'affaires a.i., welcomed guests and performers, and thanked the attendees for their cooperation and support in 2017. During the concert we could enjoy the Czech music and the warm tones of the strings which melted hearts of more than 400 people, among which were ambassadors, diplomats, Czech compatriots and Belgian partners.
The program of the evening included the String Quartet No. 22 in G major by Josef Mysliveček, the String Quartet of the Youth of Leoš Janáček and at the end of the concert the favorite String Quartet in F Major Op. 96 „American“ by Antonín Dvořák.
After a long applause and a standing ovations, the artists thanked the audience with a short encore piece.
