Czech poetry platform Poetizer going global

Poetizer is a Prague-based startup connecting poetry lovers through a free multilingual social network which allows poets to share their poetry with people from all over the world. It is available as a website and on iOS and Android apps. The application was invented and founded by Lukáš Sedláček and was launched on the 21 March 2014 on World Poetry Day (established 20 years ago by UNESCO).

Since then it has been continuously increasing in importance and popularity. The site currently covers over 120 countries with 65,000 poems already written by its users and thereby functions as a global tool for sharing and reading poetry. Poetizer runs in three language versions: Spanish, English and Czech and recently has been launched in the United States.

Key features include create-your-own poetry collections, a text editor with detailed editing tools, the option to select user anonymity and the ability to choose a minimalist 'creativity-supporting' design.

“Poetizer is creating a space for poetry lovers across the globe that share the same desires and values, like freedom of speech, authenticity and the love of poetry as a form of self-expression," says Lukáš Sedláček, founder and managing director of Poetizer. "We believe that the platform will interest even those who don’t write poetry themselves.”
