One World in Brussels 2019

In April 2019 the festival One World in Brussels will be held for the 13th time, traditionally organized by People in Need, in cooperation with the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU and the Czech Center in Brussels (supported by the Czech Embassy in Brussels) and the European Parliament.

One World in Brussels takes place on 23 - 30 April 2019. The festival will once again highlight the serious human rights topics from all over the world. This year, films and discussions will focus primarily on the current crisis in Venezuela, the freedom of the media in Russia and recent developments in Poland and Iraq. As usual, the festival will connect the international human rights community, screen the best quality documents and hold discussions with professionals, filmmakers and human rights defenders.

The opening ceremony of the thirteenth edition of the International Human Rights Documentary Festival One World Brussels is to be held on 23rd April in the Centre for Fine Arts - BOZAR by screening the movie Gods of Molenbeek.

The festival is held under the auspices of Jakub Dürr, the Permanent Representative of the Czech Republic to the EU, and Věra Jourova, the European Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality.
