Consular Department Accepts Card Payments as of May 1, 2021

Embassy of the Czech Republic in Bucharest would like to inform that the consular section starts accepting payments for consular and visa fees by electronic payment cards as of May 1, 2021.

The new card payment option will not only reduce security and hygienic risks, but will also provide applicants with greater comfort. Together with the novelty of card payments, the possibility to pay the fee in cash will continue.

Payments according to current payment rates will be accepted by the following cards: Mastercard, Mastercard Electronic, Maestro, VISA, VISA Electron, V Pay, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, Union Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and Garmin Pay.

According to the Act on Administrative Fees, the fee will be deducted from the applicant's account in CZK or EUR at the exchange rate set by the client's bank.

Fees related to applying for a Schengen visa and for lodging an appeal against a negative decision on such an application is possible to pay in EUR only.

All other administrative fees will be charged in CZK when paying by card.
