Ambassador visits Moldavia

On 22 – 25 May, Ambassador Jiří Šitler visited Iaşi, Huşi and Vaslui in North-Eastern Romania.
In Iaşi, the Ambassador opened the exhibition ”Voices of Freedom - Radio Free Europe in the Cold War Era” at Petre Andrei University and had meetings in the City Hall, County Council and Prefecture. In Huşi, the region where the Hussites, whose faith originates from Czech lands, found refuge in the 15th century, the Ambassador met with Mayor Ioan Ciupilan and with Corneliu, bishop of Huşi. In Vaslui, he planted a tree together with Mayor Vasile Paval in Curtile Domnesti Archaelogical Park, which is being greened by the city in cooperation with the Czech companies Landeco and Arboeko.
