On 22 January 2014, Chargé d´Affaires a.i. Tomáš Vostrý laid a wreath at the Jewish Cemetery Giurgiului in Bucharest.

A part of the Romanian society commemorated on 22 January 2014 the 73rd anniversary of a bloody anti-Jewish pogrom in Bucharest in 1941, which caused loss of about 130 lives, thousands of Jewish inhabitants were arrested and their property confiscated.
