Czech documentary with discussion on Burma/Myanmar

On 24 February 2014, Ambassador Jiří Šitler participated in the Czech Center Bucharest at a screening and a following discussion on the film "The art to Survive the Longest War in the World" about lives of ethnic groups in Burma.

A documentary film from 2012 made by Štěpánka Šimlová and Barbora Stejskalová describes lives of people in the Karen State in Burma threatened by the army, expulsed from their homes, hiding in the jungle, about raped women and humanitarian aid and health care by Free Burma Rangers.

After the screening, Jiří Šitler, former Ambassador of the Czech Republic to Burma/Myanmar, discussed with an audience of about one hundred people a situation in Burma and Czech transition assistance.
