Observance of Veterans Day

On 10 – 11 November 2013, Ambassador Jiří Šitler in Bucharest honoured soldiers who died in military conflicts and veterans generally.

The Czech Republic commemorates the anniversary of the end of World War I on 11 November 1918 as the Veteran Day. On Sunday 10 November Ambassador laid a wreath at the Tancabesti Commonwealth War Cemetery and on 11 November at the Bellu Military Cemetery. He also remembered Czech volunteers, who died on the Romanian soil in 1916 in Dobrogea, Romanian soldiers who fought for liberation of Czechoslovakia in 1944 – 1945 and all other veterans and victims of military conflicts.
