Photo exhibition Invasion 68 Prague open in Iasi

On 9 May 2014, an exhibition of photographs Invazie 68 Praga by Josef Koudelka was opened in Iasi and will continue till 30 May 2014. The exhibition was organized by the French Institute in cooperation with the Czech Centre in Bucharest.

Ambassador Jiří Šitler, director of the French Institute in Romania Stanislas Pierret and Director General of the National Museum “Moldova” in Iasi Lacramioara Stratulat opened in the Palace of Culture in Iasi the exhibition, which illustrates first days in Prague after the invasion of Prague by the troops of the Warsaw Pact with the exception of Romania to Czechoslovakia in 1968. L. Stratulat pointed out eternal message of the exhibition with regard to current situation in Ukraine. At the opening, besides the prefect of the Iasi County Romeo Olteanu, Mayor of Iasi Gheorghe Nichita, representatives of Magnum agency Paris and number of important local institutions there were about 150 visitors.
